KHARA MODULAR TYPEFACE

KHARA MODULAR TYPEFACE

Khara Typeface

Khara, is a modular typeface that was created in my Ravensbourne university career. I was given a famous graphic designer, Kenya Hara, and was asked to create a modular typeface that links to personally to him. I was also asked to create a series of posters to promote the typeface as if its being launched at an event. Being that Hara is originally from Japan, I wanted to loosely base my typeface around Japanese culture. The Khara typeface is made out of 7 different modules that make up the 26 letters of the alphabet.

Unique. Simplistic. Cultural.

I achieved a 1st grade for my modular typeface and used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop throughout my project.

This brochure mockup is showcasing the Khara typeface and its 7 individual modules.

This mockup shows the potential of what a lanyard could look like at the Khara launch event.

These mockups above are showcasing the series of posters that I made to promote the launch of the Khara modular typeface.

A collective of all 4 posters made to generate interest for the Khara launch event.
